College students under the supervision of members of staff from the various departments undertake cutting edge research in various aspects of agriculture to contribute to solutions to problems in the agricultural sector to contribute to the development of the country as well achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Our agricultural productivity projects focus on enhancing sustainable practices and improving production across various sectors. These initiatives aim to drive innovation, increase yields, and support the development of the agricultural industry.
Students are involved in applying innovative techniques to improve maize yields. The project plays a crucial role in enhancing food security and supporting Zambia’s staple crop production.
Students gain hands-on experience in sustainable aquaculture practices, boosting fish production to support Zambia’s food security and meet the growing demand for local fish.
Students work on sustainable forestry practices, growing and managing pine trees. This project contributes to Zambia’s timber industry while promoting environmental conservation.
Students participate in cultivating palm trees, focusing on increasing oil production. This initiative supports Zambia’s agricultural diversification and encourages sustainable farming practices.
This project focuses on sustainable beef farming practices, providing students with hands-on experience in cattle management, breeding, nutrition, and disease control. By learning modern techniques, students develop the skills needed to contribute to the livestock industry and support the growing demand for quality beef production.
Designed to enhance animal nutrition, this project teaches students how to develop cost-effective and nutritionally balanced animal feeds. Through research and practical training, participants gain expertise in feed composition, ingredient selection, and formulation techniques that improve livestock health and productivity.
Students in this program acquire essential skills in pig farming, including breeding, housing management, nutrition, and disease prevention. By focusing on efficient and sustainable pig production methods, this project helps students prepare for careers in the pork industry while promoting food security and economic growth.
